Welcome to Escrime d'Acadie

Escrime d'Acadie is an Olympic fencing club located in the heart of Acadiana - Lafayette, Louisiana. Founded on a passion for the art and spirit of fencing, our club is dedicated to promoting the growth and development of fencing in Acadiana. We offer group classes and recreational Olympic-style fencing in all three weapons - epee, foil, and saber. Whether you're a seasoned fencer or just discovering the thrill of our incredible sport, Escrime d'Acadie invites you to join our vibrant community. En garde!

At Escrime d'Acadie, we strive to create a supportive and inclusive community that fosters technical excellence, physical fitness, and mental discipline. Our experienced coaches and trainers provide personalized instruction and guidance to fencers of all ages and skill levels, from beginner to competitive elite.

For over a decade, our club has been dedicated to sharing the excitement and elegance of fencing with the Acadiana community. With a diverse membership of 40 fencers and staff, we offer expert training, special summer camps, and host our own annual Divisional tournament, the "Rudolph Memorial".

Group Training Program

Summer + Winter Fencing Camps

Summer + Winter Fencing Camps

At Escrime d'Acadie Sports Club, we provide a welcoming and supportive platform for fencing enthusiasts to come together, have fun, and learn the art of fencing.


Currently we offer an all-ages, mixed (co-ed) group program. As a part of this program each fencer's skill is tracked allowing each fencer a clear and concise understanding of how to progress through the tiers. 


  • Mixed Group Fencing Program for ages 9+
  • Option to practice any or all 3 weapons: Epee, Saber and Foil
  • No experience required
  • Equipment provided
  • Month-to-month membership ($30/month)
  • Introductory footwork and basics classes, included with standard Membership Fee
  • Multiple practice and fencing day options: Tuesday 6-8pm, Friday 6-8pm, Saturday 12-2pm
  • All practice and fencing events located in Thomas Park Rec Center, Lafayette La.


Escrime d'Acadie is currently in a state of expansion and growth and we are planning to introduce age-based group programs in near future.

Summer + Winter Fencing Camps

We organize seasonal coaching camps during summer school break, aimed at kids age 12+. These are 6-week programs aimed at showcasing the qualities and benefits of fencing, and they further aid with the integration of the camp attendees into the normal club practice and training programs. 


  • $120 for a 6-week program
  • Low Coach to student ratio, 1 coach per 3 students on average.
  • Equipment Provided
  • Beginner skill levels only
  • Kids age 12-15


We are currently working on adding an introductory-level fencing program for kids age 6 and above. Please check the website for details in the future, or follow us on Facebook using the link at the bottom of the page. You can additionally contact Phillip Dugas and Krista Fontenot for membership, camp, and general club information.

Our club is a community of like-minded individuals who share a great passion for the sport of fencing. All members of Escrime d'Acadie Fencing Club enjoy the following basic benefits:

  • Competitive fencing support and coordination, along with a host of additional online resources.
